Sherry Sun Chin Hollander

Sherry Sun Chin Hollander peacefully passed away on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at the age of 84. She was a native of Taiwan and has been a resident of Baton Rouge, LA, since 1971. In Taiwan, Sherry was trained as a seamstress. When she moved to the US, she held positions at Godchaux’s, Maison Blanche, and Ragsland. Sherry was a wonderful cook, mother, and housekeeper. But most importantly, she was a devoted and loving mate to her husband, Carl. One of the last things she ever said to him is “We never fight.” Sherry is survived by her husband of 54 years, Carl James Hollander; children, Aaron Vincent Hollander and Christine Victoria Hollander; sister-in-law, Channah “Doody”; and numerous nieces and nephews in Taiwan. She is preceded in death by her parents; her four siblings; and sister-in-law, Carol Virginia Hollander. Visitation will be at Chinese Christian Church of Baton Rouge, 10011 Old Hammond Hwy., Baton Rouge, LA, on Thursday, November 13, 2025, from 9:30am until the funeral service at 11am. Burial will be on Friday, November 14, 2025, at 11am at the Southeast Louisiana Veteran’s Cemetery, 34888 Grantham College Dr., Slidell, LA.
