Sherry found joy in the simple, lasting pleasures that bring people together. She loved traveling, bowling, playing cards, dominos, cooking big holiday meals and baking Christmas cookies. She enjoyed spending quality time with her family; especially her grandchildren, who affectionately called her “Rema”. She treasured watching her children and grandchildren play sports and was a devoted LSU and Saints fan. She was also an active member of Gamblers Anonymous and worked with special needs babies, ages 1–3, at an Early Intervention Program, helping them during the most important stages in their life. Her affection extended to her dogs— both living and stuffed Battle Pups.
Sherry is survived by her husband of 60 years, Roland Loy; children, Kenneth Loy (Kristi), Shawn Loy (Rhonda) and Melissa French (Jamison); sister, Lynn Zyla (Larry); brothers, Mack Norris (Nancy) and David Norris; grandchildren, Brennan Loy (Sarah), Phillip Loy, Hannah Loy, Gabriel French, Evan French and Nicholas Loy; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mack and Betty Norris, and her sister, Dorothy McClanahan.
