
Shirley Ann Woodruff Crawford was born on Feb. 20, 1924, inHartshorne, Okla., and passed away Thursday, April 26, 2007, at Heritage House II in Baton Rouge. Shirley's early childhood was in Hartshorne, and she moved toSapulpa, Okla., then toPonca City, Okla., for employment with Conoco Oil Co. She attended grade school, junior high and senior high school in Ponca Cityand graduated with honors. Afterwards, she attendedNorthernOklahomaCollegeatTonkawa, Okla., and graduated with honors and then attendedOklahomaUniversityinNorman, Okla., receiving a bachelor of arts degree. On June 14, 1917, Shirley married Donald Crawford in Ponca Cityand enjoyed almost 60 years of marriage. They lived inTulsa, Okla., Los Angelesand Baton Rouge, where Donald was employed with Ethyl Corp. Donald was a lieutenant in the U.S. Navy in World War II. Shirley was a member ofGammaPhiBetaCollegesorority and PEO Sisterhood. She was a member of Broadmoor Presbyterian Church. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Richard B. Crawford ofDavie, Fla.; a granddaughter, Marianne Crawford ofAnaheim, Calif.; a great-grandson, Tevis Crawford of Anaheim; a brother, Paul Ray Woodruff Jr. of San Antonio; a sister-in-law, Kay Woodruff of San Antonio; and a nephew, Mark Woodruff. Visiting at Broadmoor Presbyterian Church on Tuesday, May 1, after 1:30 p.m.until religious service at 2:30 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Hawley Wolfe. Interment in the family plot atIOOFCemeteryin Ponca Cityon Friday, May 11. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation.
