
She was 79 years of age and had been married more than 53 years. Those who knew Shirley will attest to the fact that everyone liked Shirley. When she worked at Morning Treat Coffee Company in charge of the mail-order department, people would write or call back to Morning Treat complimenting her service. Over the years, out-of-state customers would simply address their coffee mail orders just to "Shirley." She graduated from St. Joseph's Academy. Later, she was an assistant in the research department of PAR (Public Affairs Research Council). Shirley was active in KYAK (Catholic Young Adults Club) at which she met her future spouse. Shirley is survived by her husband, Sam Gallo; her daughter, Elizabeth Claire Wallbillich, husband Bruce and their son, James; her son Christopher Gallo, Kennesaw, GA, his children, Alex and Reed, her son, Michael Paul Gallo, of Flower Mound, Texas, his wife Michelle, their daughters, Anna and Caroline. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Stanley, Sr. and Anna Heine. Visitation will be at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Baton Rouge, Friday, June 1, 2012 from 9:00 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. conducted by Msgr. Berggreen with graveside services conducted by Fr. Trey Nelson. Burial will be at Shaw-McHugh Cemetery, Zachary, Louisiana. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Gallo World Family Foundation, Scholarship Fund.
