
"Married for 63 years, Shirley and "PeeWee" passed away within 2 weeks of each other. A native of Brusley, LA and longtime resident of Baton Rouge, Shirley passed away at her home on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at the age of 86. She truly enjoyed arts, crafts, projects, and painting. Shirley loved animals of all kinds and thought she needed to provide food and shelter to all the strays. She cherished her time with family and friends and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Shirley was a breast cancer survivor of 30 plus years and will be deeply missed by everyone she touched and was the best mother anyone could ask for. A native and life-long resident of Baton Rouge, "Pee Wee" passed away at his home on Monday, October 22, 2018 at the age of 84. He was an Air-Force Veteran of the Korean Conflict and was a retired section supervisor of AT&T. In his younger days, he was a bull-rider in the rodeo circuit. "Pee Wee" loved spending time in his workshop doing wood carvings and loved all types of sports, especially LSU Tigers football and baseball. He truly enjoyed time with family and will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him. They are survived by their son, Dana Scott Gerald (wife Jerri Langlois Gerald) of Denham Springs, LA; granddaughters, Melissa Gerald Ducote (husband, Brandon) and Heather Gerald Fontenot (husband Micheal); great-grandchildren, Dean, Colton, and Kaylee; and step-great grandchildren Ethan and Madeleine. Roland is also survived by his brother Norman Gerald of Baton Rouge. Shirley is preceded in death by her parents Alfred and Adella Templet; sister, Maggie Templet, and brother, Adam Templet. Roland is preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Mary Templet Gerald; parents Robert and Hazel Gerald; and brother, Robert Gerald, Jr. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 27, 2018 in the Garden of Crucifixion of Resthaven Gardens of Memory (11817 Jefferson Hwy., Baton Rouge, LA 70816) at 11:00 am.
