Sidney "Sid" Dale Nesom Sr.

Sidney “Sid” Dale Nesom, Sr. died peacefully on April 18th, 2013 in Baton Rouge. He was 90 years old, born December 30th, 1922 in Baton Rouge. He was the General Sales Manager for S & S Wholesale before going on to open his own business, Sid Nesom Distributing, Inc. in 1974. He proudly served his country as an Aviation Machinist for the US Navy. He was a member of Ducks Unlimited, the Gulf Coast Conservation Association, National Association of Sporting Good Wholesalers and a lifelong sportsman who loved the outdoors. He also enjoyed cooking, entertaining and making people happy.

He is survived by his children, Lizette Nesom, Nance Nesom and his wife Amanda, Katherine Nesom Levatino and husband Bryan; grandchildren, Sidney James Nesom, Justin Dale Levatino, Samantha Levatino, Ryan Levatino; great grandchild, Riley Beasley; sisters, Elmeria “Nunie” Nesom Baron and Virginia “Black” Nesom Walters; his loving companion of 22 years, Carol Ann Dodge; and special friend Alice Carter, honorary Nesom. He was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Ruth Winifred Keller Nesom and son, Sidney Dale Nesom, Jr.

Visitation at Greeonoaks Funeral Home on Sunday, April 21, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Visitation resumes at the funeral home on Monday, April 22, from 9 a.m. until service at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park.
