

"'I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith'. 2 Timothy 4:7 Our beautiful, devoted, and fun-loving mother, Stella Chemin Gueho, a resident of Baton Rouge, passed away on Saturday, June 24, 2017 at the age of 74. She was a graduate of Istrouma High '61, a member of the LA Plantation Cowbelles, and a faithful parishioner of St. Jude Catholic Church. For over 35 years she owned and operated Stella's Beauty Shop. She took pride in her work with many loyal customers, which grew into a lifetime of friendships. She also enjoyed working in the yard, cooking for her family, trips with her family to the beach, shopping with her daughter, and dancing with her husband. She felt her children were her greatest accomplishment. She is survived by: her husband Carroll, of 53 years; her children Keith Gueho (Kim), Danielle Gueho (Cliff), grandchildren Grant and Alexandra, and great-grandchild Reine; her brother John Chemin (Rosie) and sister Melba; brother-in-law CJ Gueho, sister in-laws Rosemary McCullough and Catherine Gueho; numerous nieces and nephews and her best friend of over 40 years, Betsy Castro. She was preceded in death by her parents John and Lucille Gaudin Chemin. Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 29 at St. Jude Church from 9:30am - noon with funeral services starting at noon, officiated by Father Jason Palmero. Burial will follow at Resthaven Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Brent Gueho, Lance Gueho, Jimmy McCullough, BJ Gueho, Stephen Parrino, Wade Johnson, Carl Gaudin, and Bodie Quick. Stella was a very special lady that was loved by all and will be greatly missed. Special thanks to all the staff at St. James Place, especially Ms. Orleal, Denise, Rhonda, Pam, Courtney, Taylor, Sherrylyn, Niya and Shirley. Special thanks to the staff at Hospice of BR, especially Suzie, who was an angel to Stella and her family from the moment she came into their lives.
