Steven Kirby

Steven Fred Kirby, a resident of Zachary, Louisiana, passed away on July 17, 2021 at home, at the age of 77. He served in the US Army from 1962 To 1965. His career started working at the Hammond State School, and he finished his working career at DOTD after 33 years. He loved farming, chauffeuring his grandkids around and said any day fishing was a good day.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Barbara Lee Kirby; his daughter, Heidi Kirby Israel (Chris); son Steven Dean Kirby; grandchildren, Christopher Orr (Esteffania), Kayla Kirby, Kade Kirby (Shelby) and Sarah Israel; two sisters Carol Ferguson (William) and Gloria Schilling (Albert); and numerous nieces and nephews. He is proceeded in death by his parents, Clarence and Tenzy Kirby; and daughter, Stacie Kirby Hooper.

Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home on July 20, 2021 from 11:00 am until services at 2:00pm. Interment will be at Greenoaks Memorial Park.

Pallbearer are Kade Kirby, Christopher Orr, Albert Schillings, Josh Bordelon, Zach Hemphill, and Christopher Israel. Honorary Pallbearer will be Wayne Vick.

In Lieu of flowers, Steve requested that donations be made to the Louisiana Special Olympics.
