"A loving mother, aunt, cousin, niece and friend, Tara passed away suddenly in her home on April 2, 2017 at the age of 58. She is survived by her daughter, Alexandra Cook. A Baton Rouge native, Tara worked for the past 17 years at the LSU Student Union where she created many lifelong friendships. She had such a big heart and was the type of person that would help another in need even when she herself was struggling. She also had a special place in her heart for animals, especially those who needed a little extra love. Memorial visitation will be at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd, on Thursday, April 6, 2017, from 5 pm until 7 pm. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor Tara may make donations to April the Giraffe and the Animal Adventure Park which is an interactive educational animal park, whose goal is to help develop a deeper appreciation for animals and their conservation.
