Theresa “Ruth” Templet Deshotels, 84, daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother entered Heaven on March 30, 2021 at her home in Baton Rouge, LA after a short battle with ovarian cancer. She was born in Plaquemine, LA to Francis Lionel Templet and Mary Evelyn Callahan Templet on September 16, 1936 but was a lifelong resident of Baton Rouge, LA. She graduated from Istrouma High School and worked for many years at GMAC and later for Industrial Hardware and Drago Supply before retiring. She is survived by her four children, Charlotte Keller (Jim), Jimmy Deshotels (Renee’), Bonnie Wilks (Jerry), and Jennifer Balestreri (Ross); 10 grandchildren, James Pennington, Justin Deshotels, Ricky Landry II, Jeffrey Wilks (Sherry), Jeremy Wilks (Stephanie), Ashley Wilks Maness (Andrew), Nicole, Christopher, Michael and James Balestreri; and 5 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her two sisters, Mary Evelyn Dufour Ourso and Gloria “Ann” Marionneaux Beraud. Special thanks to Clarity Hospice for their kind and loving support, especially Ingrid, RN and Michelle, CNA and to the Williamsburg Senior Living Community that Ruth has called home for the past 5 ½ years. Pallbearers will be her grandsons. Visitation at Greenoaks Funeral Home from 10 to 12 on Wednesday, April 7 with a funeral service at noon.
