
Born June 4, 1924, in Belle Rose, she passed away on Tuesday, June 26, 2007, at her home in Baton Rouge, at age 83. She graduated as valedictorian from Belle Rose High School and was a longtime employee of the Louisiana Department of Revenue. She was a parishioner of St. Patrick's Catholic Church and a member of the Catholic Daughters. Therese is survived by a daughter, Mary Lou Austin, Baton Rouge; two stepsons, Gary Newchurch and wife Martha, and Frank Newchurch III and wife Therese; grandchildren, Renee C. Orillion, Philip Landry Jr. and Paula L. Guillory; sister, Maude Daigle; brother, Walter Blanchard; stepgrandchildren, Emile and Matthew Newchurch, Sybil Chandler and Donna Landry; 13 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandson. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dalbert and Lucille Blanchard; husband, Frank Newchurch Jr.; daughter, Judy B. Landry; sister, Adaline Borne; and two brothers, Israel and Phillip Blanchard. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., was on Thursday, June 28, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., with recitation of the rosary at 6:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, Paincourtville, at 10 a.m. Friday. Interment in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Don Ragusa, Philip Landry Sr., Ben Guillory, Van Powell, Doug Orillion and Wayne Freeman. Honorary pallbearers are Philip Landry Jr. and Emile Newchurch.
