
Our loving father was called home to Jesus at 6:40 p.m. Thursday, April 2, 2009, at Baton Rouge General Medical Center"“Bluebonnet after hearing the rosary recited at his bedside. He was 79, a native of Walls and a resident of Baton Rouge. He was a master carpenter and a veteran of the U.S. Army. A peaceful man of few words who put God and family first, he spoiled his children excessively, especially his two daughters, even in their adulthood. He was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church and Our Lady Queen of Peace Rosary Club. Visiting at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 749 East Blvd., on Monday, April 6, from 12:30 p.m. until recitation of the rosary at 1:30 p.m. followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 2 p.m., celebrated by Monsignor Robert H. Berggreen. Interment in Roselawn Memorial Park. Survived by two daughters, Celeste D. Roquemore and husband Eric, and Alyson M. Darensbourg; two sons, Thomas, Jr. and Lyndon Darensbourg and wife Tina; a sister, Mrs. Catherine Iona Domingue; sisters-in-law, Joyce D. Cook, Goldie Darensbourg, Hazel Darensbourg and Amy Darensbourg; a brother-in-law, Wilbert Warren Decuir Sr. and wife Eunice; two granddaughters, Kaitlyn Deanne Darensbourg and Lyndsey Michelle Darensbourg; a stepgranddaughter, Amanda Claire Roquemore; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 50 years, Dolores DeCuir Darensbourg; parents, George Sr. and Olivia Darensbourg; brothers, John, George Jr., Louis Murphy, Floyd, Paul, Harry, Martin and Elliot Darensbourg Sr.; and sisters, Lois, Mary, Janette and Virginia Darensbourg, and Ivanell D. Price. Pallbearers will be Elliot J. Darensbourg Jr., Elliot J. Darensbourg III, Christopher Darensbourg, John Anthony Cook, Bertell A. Cook Jr. and Wilbert Warren DeCuir Jr. Honorary pallbearers are Charles E. Cook, Neil Darensbourg, Wilbert Warren DeCuir Sr., Elliot J. O'Brien, Louis B. Hall, Eric L. Roquemore and Anthony E.
