
A loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend, Harold Lacy died peacefully at his home in Baton Rouge with his family around him in the late evening of Thursday, Jan. 1, 2009. He was 77, just missing his birthday on Jan. 28. His life was a full one. After having a fun childhood, he graduated from Catholic High School in Baton Rouge in 1947, after which he served for more than a year in the U.S. Navy until 1950. Once he was honorably discharged from the Navy, he moved back to Baton Rouge and began working for Exxon (Humble Oil) as an apprentice, working his way up to planning engineer when he retired in 1984, after 33 years of service. During his years at Exxon, in 1962, Harold worked in Saudi Arabia for 2"° years with Arabian American Oil Co. (ARAMCO). He and his family have wonderful memories of their many travels all over the world. He was preceded in death by his mother, Myrtle Doiron Lacy; father, Sydney J. Lacy Sr.; brother, Sydney Lacy Jr.; and sister, Beverly Marie Lacy. He is survived by his wife of almost 60 years, Beverly Grass Lacy; daughter, Lynn Perez-Frederick; grandsons, Andrew, Harold and Todd Perez; sisters, Joyce Jolliesant and Theresa Hendershot; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation at the chapel at St. Joseph's Academy, 2980 Kleinert Ave., Baton Rouge, on Monday, Jan. 5, from noon until Mass at 2:30 p.m., led by the Rev. Eugene Young. He will be buried immediately after Mass in Roselawn Cemetery. The pallbearers and honorary pallbearers will be Wander Hart, Ernest Gipson, John Hendershot, David Jolliesant, Greg Jolliesant, Jack Jolliesant, Steve Jolliesant, Walter Kroswell, Johnny Lacy, Tim Lacy, Bernard Landry, Christopher Landry, Marty Landry and Joel Rainey.
