A retired computer repairman for NASA, EAI, Integraph and DOTD, Thomas passed away Saturday, July 10, 2010, at his home in Baton Rouge, surrounded by his loving family. Thomas was 76, a native of Maringouin and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. Visiting at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., on Tuesday, July 13, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Visiting continues at the funeral home Wednesday from 10 a.m. until service at noon. Thomas is survived by his wife of 46 years, Kimiko Torres; two sons, Timmy Torres, and Teddy Torres and wife Melanie; two sisters, Roberta Torres Spragis and husband Alvin, and Betty Torres Mullen and husband Buddy; nine nieces and nephews; and four grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Thomas and Haley Torres and Sarah Allen. Thomas was preceded in death by his father, Richard J. Torres Sr.; mother, Louise Randall Torres; and two brothers, R.J. Torres Jr. and Fred A. Torres.
