
Tom Browning Marshall Jr. passed away Friday, May 23, 2014, at the Butterfly Wing of Hospice of Baton Rouge. He was born in Russellville, KY. on January 23, 1934. to Tom B. and Mildred Williams Marshall, who preceded him in death. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Kentucky Wesleyan College, Owensboro, KY, in 1955. He served two years as a reservist on active duty in thehttp://www.legacy.com/memorial-sites/navy/?personid=171140984&affiliateID=1382" id="InlineMicrositeLink_Navy" target="_blank" title="Visit Navy Memorial Site to see similar profiles">U.S. Navybefore moving to Baton Rouge in 1957. He was formerly employed by Continental Service Life and Health Insurance Company and by American Liberty Life Insurance Company. Following active employment, he was a volunteer at First United Methodist Church and at Baton Rouge General Medical Center-Mid City. He is survived by an aunt, Mary M. Hoorn, Cedar Hill, TN, and by two first cousins; Marilynn G. Abrams, Owensboro, and Jay Lynn Gregson, Indianapolis, IN. He was a member of First United Methodist Church and was a Kentucky Colonel. Visiting from 10:00 a.m. until memorial services at Aldrich Chapel of First United Methodist Church at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 30, 2014, conducted by Rev. Brad Franklin. He requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the memorial fund of First United Methodist Church, 930 North Blvd, Baton Rouge, LA 70802. A special thank you for the care given to Tom by the staff of the Butterfly Wing and the staff of Harvest Manor.
