
A loving mother, wife, daughter and sister, Toni Elizabeth Pope LaBorde was born on March 10, 1959, and went to be with the Lord on Sunday, Sept. 16, 2007. She was a 1977 graduate of Broadmoor High School. Afterward, she attended LSU and graduated from Our Lady of the Lake School of Nursing in 1980. She worked in the neonatal intensive care units at Good Sam in Phoenix and LSU Earl K. Long Medical Center. She loved taking care of babies and their parents. Toni loved people and wanted to be a nurse since she was 8 years old after a six-week hospital stay. She was diagnosed with tetralogy of fallot and complete situs inversis when she was 8 days old. She fought a long and painful battle. She is survived by her husband of 26 years, Dale P. LaBorde; son, Matthew J. LaBorde of Baton Rouge; and stepson, Jonathan LaBorde, who will miss her greatly. She is also survived by her mother, Helen C. Creed of Jackson; sister, Melissa Kay Pope of Baton Rouge; many nephews, nieces, aunts and uncles who also share the loss of this wonderful person. Toni was preceded in death by her father, Dale E. Pope; sister, Debra Suzanne Pope Moreau; and grandparents, Emma Young, and Charles and Della Cauthron. A memorial visitation at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., was on Tuesday, Sept. 18, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visitation will continue at Healing Place Church on Wednesday from 9 a.m. until memorial service at 11 a.m. The family would like to thank all of the people at Healing Place Church and First Baptist Church of Zachary who were so helpful and supportive.
