"She was an angel among us, a gift from God above. She showered us with kindness and shared with us her love. She lived a long life of almost 94 years, but there is never enough years to love someone like her. She will be dearly missed, to everyone of us she gave her best, but now the time has come for her to rest.
So go in peace, you've earned your sleep, your love in our hearts we will eternally keep."
Tracy Brewer Stansell, age 93, was born in Pike County, Mississippi, on June 10, 1928. She was a longtime resident of Baton Rouge, LA, where she passed away on April 6, 2022 at Flannery Oaks Guest House. Tracy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who radiated strength and generosity. She loved to “no end” and sometimes had no filter; she made us laugh and gasp... often at the same time. Tracy loved board games, the casino, music, sweet tea, and her friends at Flannery Oaks for the last seven years, especially friends Ruby and Debbie. Tracy is survived by children, Rick Brewer (Madeline) of Baker, Lynda Michelli (Carl) of Gulf Shores, AL, Patricia LeBlanc (Dena) of Shreveport, Debbie Dufour of Dallas, TX, and Charles Stansell of Dallas, TX; sisters, Wanzie, Dorothy, and Pauline; and 20 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles E. Stansell; parents, A.P. and Mollie Brewer; brothers, Arnie, Bryan, Bill, Millard, Willard, Monroe, and John; sisters, Dwilla (Sis), Fannie, and Carol; children, Anne and Drew, and granddaughter, Nicole. A visitation will be held at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East on Friday, April 8, 2022, at 2 pm until service at 3, conducted by Chaplain Cedric Murphy. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park. The family wants to thank the nurses and staff at Flannery Oaks Guest House, particularly Jo and Daphne, as well as the staff at Life Source Hospice.
