

Troy C. Garretson, Jr., a beloved native of New Iberia, LA, and a cherished resident of Pride, LA, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, February 11, 2025. His departure leaves a profound void in the hearts of those who loved him. Throughout his life, Troy’s journey was filled with moments that shaped the person he became. Through vivid flashbacks, we remember his joyful childhood and the hands-on craftsmanship that sparked his passion for woodworking. Troy found incredible joy in creating, and his love for construction led him on many adventures across the country, including exhilarating experiences in Alaska. Even in their sorrow, they witness Troy’s legacy blossoming, revealing the strength of their love and devotion to him, which only grows stronger with time. Troy is survived by his beloved daughter, Candace Garretson of Lafayette, LA; his son, Adam Christopher Comeaux and his wife, Bonnie of Youngsville, LA; and his cherished grandchildren, Ava-Claire, Emma-Kate, Beau, and Wyatt. Each of them will carry his memory forward, honoring the man who meant so much to them. He is preceded in death by his parents, Troy C. Garretson Sr. and Marjorie C. Nelson Garretson, and his brother, Duane Scott Garretson, all of whom were also residents of Pride, LA.
