Una Mary Marshall, age 90, was called home to the Lord on July 25th while surrounded by her family. A lifelong resident of Baton Rouge, Una spent her life dedicated to the service of others. After retiring from a career with the East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office, she ran a tax preparation business and helped family and friends as a CPA. She discovered her true passions late in life: casinos and Raising Canes. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Sidney Ray Richardson; sons, Edward Ray Lieux and Michael Joseph Lieux; granddaughter, Kelsey Rae Lieux; brothers, James F. Marshall and John P. Marshall; and sisters, Deola Katich, Beatrice Hudson, Lillian Ruth Marshall, and Ethel Poissot. Survivors are sisters, Wanda Keen and Aline Fisher; children: Melodie Landry (David), Charles Lieux (Tammy), and David Lieux (Buffy); grandchildren: Josh Meeks (Laura), Alicen Harris (Caleb), Lexi and Sarah Grace Lieux, Patrick Landry; and great-grandson Brooks Thomas Harris. Visitation will be on Saturday, July 29, 2023, at St. George Catholic Church, from 9am until Mass of Christian Burial at 11am. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be her grandchildren and their spouses. She explicitly wished to “not thank any doctors as they have all been paid”, but the family extends gratitude to Modern Hospice and Fidelis White Road.
