

Victor “Jerry” Crain, 87, of Baton Rouge, LA passed away on March 3, 2025, at his home. Jerry was born August 8, 1937, in Varnado, LA to Victor Johnston Crain and Flossie Seal Crain. He graduated from Louisiana State University and served in the United States Navy. He worked in many industries throughout his life but loved his role playing a Santa the most. He was a long-time member of Florida Boulevard Baptist Church and loved His Lord, Jesus Christ. Jerry was married to the love of his life, Peggy, for over 40 years. He is preceded in death by Peggy, his daughter, Sondra Crain Humphrey, and his parents. He is survived by his son, Mark Crain (Dian) and grandchildren Adam (Haley), Seth and Alex Crain; Lauren Humphrey Cline (Joe and son Asher), Jonathan, and Matthew Humphrey. Jerry’s brother, Cecil Crain (Gay Elizabeth), and sisters, Doris Coleman and Lynda Dawson (Dave) are his surviving siblings and his beloved son-in-law, cousins, nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made in Jerry’s memory to Broadmoor United Methodist Church 10230 Mollylea Dr, Baton Rouge, LA 70815. Please designate the donation for either RedStick Together or Burgers and Bibles. Jerry enjoyed both of these ministries.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, March 15th at 2 pm at Greenoaks Cemetery. Reverand Loy Seal, Jerry’s cousin, will officiate the service.
