Verina was married to her beloved husband, Jay Townsend Weaver, for 70 years, a union marked by enduring commitment and deep love.
She is survived by her husband, Jay Townsend Weaver; her children, Caye Weaver and Reed Weaver (Vickie); her daughters-in-law Laura Weaver and Rene Weaver; her grandchildren Jason (Blaire), Chad (Natalie), Brittany (Josh), Daniel (Amanda), Mandi, and Ashton; and ten great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her sons, Alan Weaver and Jay Weaver.
Verina will be remembered for her steadfast love, strength, and deep affection for children. She took great joy in nurturing, guiding, and spending time with the youngest members of her family, and her legacy lives on in the generations she nurtured.
Services will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 9595 Florida Blvd, Baton Rouge, LA 70815, on Saturday, January 31, 2026, with visitation from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., followed by the memorial service at 11:00 a.m.
