Verline C. Pellegrin

My love and peace to you on this special day for I have fought the good fight and received my Crown of Righteousness. In the quiet of the evening on July 2nd at 7:30 pm CST, I took my final earthly breath in a place where I lived most of my life, Baton Rouge, with my beloved husband of 71 years, Francis C. Pellegrin. Today I am reunited with him. In the 90 years that I spent on this earth, I leave behind many friends and family but my heavenly reception line includes many people I have loved in my life. My reunion includes my mother and father, Esperance and Phillip Chauvin; my brothers and their spouses, Eugene “Gene” & Audrey Chauvin, Philip “Jr.” Chauvin, Ivy & Shirley Chauvin, and Raymond “Peanut” Chauvin; my sister and her husband, Emilie & Calvin Kaupp; and my brothers-in-law, Noland Amadee and Ronald deMarsche. I leave behind my brothers, Ray “Belo” Chauvin and Myles “Nookie” Chauvin (Linda); and sisters, Bertha deMarsche and Paulette Amadee. I also leave behind my three sons and their spouses, Kenneth Pellegrin (Mona), Mark Pellegrin (Lydia), and Gregory Pellegrin (Patricia); my daughter, Susan Pellegrin Jones; and my sisters-in-law, Kathleen and Winnie Chauvin. Our Heavenly Father has blessed me with three grandchildren: Heath (Jaeyln) Pellegrin, Nicholas Pellegrin, and Heather Lampos and two great grandchildren: Mikaylie and Kaden Pellegrin. I want to thank the staff at the St. Joseph’s Carpenter House for the wonderful care they provided me. Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church which is located at 445 Marquette Ave., Baton Rouge, LA will be holding a Memorial Mass of Christian Burial for me on Thursday, July 15, 2021 at 2 pm. There will be a gathering from 1 pm until 2 pm prior to the mass, with a rosary beginning at 1:30 pm. Inurnment will follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park Cemetery. In closing, remember there are no tears in Heaven nor grief of any kind, I leave this final teardrop to those I have left behind. Though absent from the body, I’m present with the Lord; the joy of my salvation is now my full reward. And just as God has promised, he’s wiped my tears away and nothing can compare to the wonder of that day.
