
A retired employee of Kleinpeter Dairy, he died Monday, March 24, 2008, at 11 p.m. at his home in Baton Rouge. He was 85, a native of Estherwood and a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. Visiting at St. George Catholic Church on Thursday, March 27, from 9 a.m. until religious service at 11 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Michael Collins. Interment in St. George Church Cemetery. He is survived by a daughter, Frances J. Broussard; three sons and daughters-in-law, Robert M. and Kathryn Broussard, Daniel J. and Jennifer Broussard, and Vernis J. Jr. and DeeAnn Broussard; four grandchildren, Kathryn Carrie Broussard Berry, Katie Ann Broussard, Robert Daniel Broussard and Vernis J. Broussard III; and great-grandson, Davie Charles Broussard. Preceded in death by his wife, Mary Carrie Kleinpeter Broussard; sister, Aline Broussard Sarver; and brother, Sidney J. Broussard. Pallbearers will be Robert M. Broussard, Daniel J. Broussard, Vernis J. Broussard Jr., Robert Daniel Broussard, Vernis J. Broussard III and Louis P. Brupbacher. He was a member of Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, where he was active in the Men's Club and Knights of Columbus Council 4030.
