

"Virginia Theresa Darensbourg passed away peacefully on October 3, 2017 at the age of 92 surrounded by her family. Born in New Orleans, Louisiana, on June 12, 1925, and a longtime native of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Virginia a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and will be deeply missed by all her family and friends. She is survived by three children, Barry G. (Mannie) Darensbourg and Patrice M. Watkins of Atlanta, Georgia, Lyle "Matt" (Carolyn) Darensbourg of Reno, Nevada, 9 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and 1 sister, Joyce DeGrange. Virginia is preceded in death by her parents Joseph Eugene, Sr. and Mary Theresa Darensbourg, brother, Joseph Eugene Darensbourg, Jr., husband, Henry Marvin Darensbourg, Sr, son Henry Marvin Darensbourg, Jr, and daughter Pamela Theresa Darensbourg Carter. She was a woman of deep Christian faith and a long-time member of St.Agnes Catholic Church in Baton Rouge. She served as a member of the Rosary Group, The Legion of Mary, The Third Order of Mary, Our Lady of Schoenstatt Shrine Pilgrimage Group and one social club, The Gay Bells. Virginia's visitation will be held on Monday, October 9 at 9:00 am with praying of the rosary at 10:00 am followed by the Mass of a Christian Burial celebrated by Reverend Msgr. Robert Berggreen at 11:00 am at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Interment will immediately follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in New Roads, Louisiana. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Catholic Charites of Baton Rouge. Arrangements provided by Rabenhorst Funeral Home Downtown in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
