A homemaker, a native of Independence and a resident of Baton Rouge, Virginia died at 5 a.m. Friday, March 21, 2008, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. She was 90. Visitation will be at St. George Catholic Church on Tuesday from 9 a.m. until the memorial Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Entombment will follow in the church mausoleum. She is survived by her son, Martin Prestigiacomo; sister, Loretta Buttacovilli; three grandchildren and a great-grandchild. Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Phillip Prestigiacomo; brother, Tony; and sisters, Angelina and Mary. She was a member of St. George Catholic Church. Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government St., is in charge of arrangements.
