

She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was 96, a native of Gonzales and resident of Baton Rouge. She died at 9:10 a.m. Monday, June 28, 2010, at Landmark Nursing Home. Visitation will be at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., Tuesday, June 29, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Wednesday at St. Louis King of France Catholic Church, from 10 a.m. until a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m., celebrated by the Rev. Jack Nutter. Interment will follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park. She is survived by two sons, Al LaPorte Sr. and spouse Viola Loupe, and Donald LaPorte and spouse Diane Fabre; daughter-in-law, Shirley Donaldson LaPorte; seven grandchildren, Vickie LaPorte Ward, Doug LaPorte, Debbie LaPorte Corsentino, Donna LaPorte Gossenand, Al LaPorte Jr., DeEtte LaPorte Brouillette and Troy LaPorte; and 12 great-grandchildren, Eric Ward, Cody Ward, Gavin LaPorte, Gabrielle Corsentino, Dylan Corsentino, Brittany Gossenand, Brandi Gossenand, Drew LaPorte, Garrett Brouillette, Grant Brouillette, Malori LaPorte and Josi LaPorte. She was preceded in death by her husband, Victor Joseph LaPorte Sr.; a son, Victor Joseph LaPorte Jr. "V.J."; parents, Clement and Emalize Lanoux Gautreau; five brothers and six sisters. Pallbearers will be Doug LaPorte, Al LaPorte Jr., Troy LaPorte, Eric Ward, Cody Ward, Dylan Corsentino, Garrett Brouillette and Grant Brouillette. Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Jack Loupe, Bob Fabre, Allen Ward, Mike Corsentino, Paul Gossenand, Greg Brouillette and Terry Lieux. She was a member of St, Louis King of France Catholic Church.
