Wanda Jean Arnold Ricks passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her husband, children, family and friends at 3 p.m. Saturday, April 9, 2011. She was 81, a native of Brookhaven, Miss., and a resident of Colyell. She will always be remembered for her unconditional love and devotion to her husband, the love of her life for 63 years, and to her children, and will be sadly missed by all. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East on Monday, April 11, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visitation resumes at Colyell Baptist Church on Tuesday, April 12, from 10 a.m. until services at 1 p.m. Burial in Colyell Community Baptist Cemetery. She is survived by the love of her life, her husband, Raymond L. Ricks; daughter and son-in-law, Cynthia and AJ Frederic; sons and daughters-in-law, Bradley Ricks, Keith and Kim Ricks, and Barry and Joy Ricks; 11 grandchildren, Shelley Graham, Kamie Sanchez, Brandon Babin, Tiffiny Moulard, Gerren Babin, Travis and Darren Ricks, Brittany and Kaylee Ricks, and Dain and Beau Frederic; and 11 great-grandchildren, Olivia Graham, Rio and Zeke Gauthier, Savanna and Brayden Moulard, Brant Babin, Gracyn, Kenadie and Kenzlie Babin, and Jordyn and Ashlyn Frederic. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Hugh and Mildred Arnold; and an infant brother. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Brandon and Gerren Babin, Travis and Darren Ricks, also Joe Ricks, and Ambers Wheat. The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to St. Joseph Hospice for the wonderful eight years of care. We are especially grateful for Susie Powell, Dale Delaune, Ashley Fletcher and Ursula Solomon, whom all became a part of our family.
