

Wanzie Pourciau Chaney passed away on Monday, January 30, 2017, at the age of 90. A bookkeeper, she retired in 1985 and with her husband, John, enjoyed fishing trips to their camp on Toledo Bend. Wanzie also enjoyed traveling with her children, particularly to the area around Gatlinburg, Tennessee in the Smoky Mountains. She also enjoyed going to the Council on Aging where she made many friends. She is survived by one daughter, Denise Odum and husband, Dale; two sons, Ronnie Broussard and Jeff Broussard and wife, Janice; nine grandchildren, David Broussard and wife, Kellie, Steve Broussard and wife, Sherri, Murray Broussard, Phillip Dempsey, Jr., Jeffrey Broussard, Aaron Broussard and wife, Erin, Paul Odum and wife, Alissa, Michael Odum and wife, Veronica, and Nicole Odum Bryant and husband, Shelton and 14 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, John L. Chaney; her parents, Clarence and Odette Pourciau; her sister, Rowena Breaux; her brothers, Clarence, Alvin and James “J.B.” Pourciau and her daughter-in-law Melanie Broussard. Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home on Friday, February 3, 2017, from 5:00pm until 8:00pm. Visitation will resume at Greenoaks Funeral Home on Saturday, February 4, 2017, from 10:00am until the funeral service at 12:00pm. Burial will immediately follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
