Retired Baton Rouge Police Chief, Wayne Rogillio, Sr., passed away on Wednesday, February 24, 2021. He left this earth peacefully in his home surrounded by his loving wife, family and friends. A lifelong resident of Baton Rouge, Chief Rogillio (Ret.), was born on Tuesday, November 5, 1940 to his late parents Julien Eddie Rogillio and Hazel Morales Rogillio. Chief Rogillio (Ret.) became a Baton Rouge Police Officer, as his father before him, on April 1st 1962. He proudly served the Baton Rouge community for thirty years, retiring in April of 1992. Chief Rogillio (Ret.) is survived by his wife Carolyn of 18 years; children, Wayne R. Rogillio Jr. (Theresa), Michael Rogillio (June), Craig Rogillio (Arceli), Debra Rogillio Geauthreaux (Tommy), Jeffery Rogillio (Jamie) and Step Children, Brad Vince, Chris Vince (Brittany Kirby), Carrie Vince Broussard (Scott) and Gina Vince (Richey Crenshaw). Grandchildren Joshua Rogillio, Christie Rogillio, Benjamin Rogillio, Matt Rogillio, Brittney Rogillio, Kaden Rogillio, David Rogillio, Connor Landry, Samantha Vince Pate, Jordan Cain, Brieanna Vince, Grayson Broussard, Adam White, Camielle Hernandez, Averielle Lachapelle along with six great-grandchildren. During his life, Chief Rogillio (Ret.) took pride in his family and loved spending time with friends. He also loved riding his motorcycles, traveling the country and caring for his beloved pets. Services for Chief Rogillio (Ret.) will begin with a wake, located at Rabenhorst East Funeral Home, 11000 Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge, La., on Sunday February 28, 2021 between 4:00 pm and 8:00 pm. The funeral will be at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, 14040 Greenwell Springs Rd., Greenwell Springs, La., on Monday March 1, 2021 at 1:00 pm with burial to follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory, 11817 Jefferson Hwy., Baton Rouge, La.
