

Our Lord called Wendell Lee Reed to his Heavenly home Thursday, June 13, 2024, surrounded by his loving family at the age of 92. He was born on September 8, 1931, in Crowley, Louisiana. Wendell was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. He was known for his gentle, easygoing nature, wit, and his unwavering faith in the Lord, which he displayed daily.
Wendell proudly served in the Air Force for 6 years. He then went on to work for Gulf States Utilities (Entergy) retiring after 40 years. He leaves behind a legacy of commitment and hard work.
He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Bonnie Corban Reed, and his children: Mike and wife Lori Arnold Prather, Sonja Reed Smith and husband Charlie, Rusty and wife Kayce LaRocca Reed, Wendy Reed Comeaux and husband Kyle. Wendell will be deeply missed by his grandchildren Cody, Brittany, Beau, Alexis, Chase, Hope, Hannah, Kerry, Logan, Jessica, Bailey, Matthew, Alec Lee, and Kylie, as well as his great-grandchildren Michael, Knox, Vivienne, Caroline, Knight, Nash, and soon to be Peter and Baby Boy Burns.
Wendell was preceded in death by his parents, Rufus and Pearl Reed, sister Rae Faulk, and brother Lowell Reed.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 18th, with visitation from 1-3 PM and the service at 3 PM at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd, Baton Rouge, 70815. Services will be officiated by Rev. Kyle Comeaux and Rev. Rusty Reed. Music provided by Cody and Chase Smith.
Pallbearers will be grandsons Cody Smith, Chase Smith, Beau Prather, Logan Prather, Alec Reed, Kerry Burns, and Matthew Reihm.
Honorary pallbearers will be granddaughters Hannah Burns, Bailey Reihm, Kylie Comeaux, Brittany Smith, Hope Smith, Alexis Prather, Jessica Prather. Also, Dylan Sanders, Larry Corban, Kenny Prather, Craig Corban, and Gary Rainwater. And Heavenly friends, Romie Averett and James Arnold.

Pawpaw, you will be missed more than words could ever express, but you will live in our hearts forever. We have peace knowing we will meet again in Heaven walking the streets of gold!
