Willard F. Britt, 83, of Baton Rouge, passed away on Friday, Dec. 5, 2014, unexpectedly as a result of surgery complications. Dedicated to his community, he recently retired from the East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office, Civil Processing Division with 22 years of service, was an EBRSO Honor Guard member, a Eucharistic Minister at St. Jude Catholic Church for many years, VFW member, and a veteran of the US Air Force from 1950 to 1954. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Jeannette Michaud Britt, his parents Russell and Allene (Taylor) Ferguson, and a half-brother Jeff Britt. He is survived by children: Loretta Britt, Lynne Britt, Wayne Britt, Paul Britt & wife Cathy, Brenda Britt Garner & husband Scott Garner, Anita Britt Colter & husband John Colter; brother, Mark Britt; sister, Betty Kay Thomas; 9 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren. Visitation (wake) will be Monday, Dec. 8 from 5-8 pm at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd. Visitation will continue Tuesday, Dec. 9, from 12 to 1:00 at St. Jude Catholic Church, with the funeral mass at 1:00 pm. Burial will be 2:30 pm at Greenoarks Memorial Park on Florida Blvd.
