Willard "Will" Earnest Bonvillian

Willard “Will” Bonvillian, age 85, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 19, 2026. Born in Robert, Louisiana on February 25, 1941, Will was a lifelong Louisianan, leaving his beloved home state only when he was drafted into the U.S. Army to serve his country during the Vietnam War.

Upon returning home, Will worked faithfully for 32 years at Exxon. While he spent over three decades as a dedicated employee, he considered it simply a job; his true passion and greatest accomplishment in life was his family. Married for 56 years to the love of his life, Kathy, Will built a home grounded in steadfast devotion, warmth, and faith.

Above all else, Will loved the Lord with all his heart, soul, and strength. His faith was the anchor of his life, and he felt immensely blessed to be a part of the church family at River Community Church. His loved ones take great comfort in knowing that he fought the good fight, finished the race, and is now safe in the arms of Jesus.

A passionate sports fan, Will loved all things LSU, but nothing brought him more joy than LSU women’s basketball. As dedicated season ticket holders for 30 years, he and Kathy spent decades cheering on the Tigers from the stands. At the age of 60, Will learned to dance, joining the CFMA dance troupe with Kathy, a season of life filled with fun, rhythm, and wonderful friendships.

To his family, Will was a pillar of strength, wisdom, and unconditional love. To his daughter, he was the best "girl dad" anyone could ever ask for, and to his grandsons, he was simply the best Pops. Will had a warm smile, a great sense of humor, and a quick wit. He was a “hide in the closet and jump out to scare you” kind of guy, just ask his daughter and grandsons! He was a kind and gentle man, always putting others before himself.

Will is survived by his beloved wife, Kathy; daughter, Jessika, and her husband, Chuck; cherished grandsons, Andrew and Joshua; brother, Timmy; sisters-in-law, Robyn, Gerri, and Pattylyn; and nieces and nephews, Kim, Toby, Tracy, Todd, Troy, Chris, Kyle, Kati, Justin, Brian, Melissa, Licia, Alexander, and Benjamin.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Marjorie and Willard Bonvillian; sisters, Sandra and Kristyn; brothers, Kit and John Howard; sister-in-law, Clara; brothers-in-law, Aubrey and Kenny; and his mother-in-law, Norma.

The family extends a special thanks to Pinnacle Hospice for their exceptional care and compassion.

Visitation will be at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge, LA, on Friday, September 25, 2026, from 12:30pm until the funeral service at 2pm. Burial will immediately follow at Greenoaks Funeral Home.
