
William C. "Bill" May, 89, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2011, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. A native of Blytheville, Ark., and a longtime resident of Baton Rouge, Bill loved the outdoors and especially enjoyed working in his yard. He is survived by Joan Russo May, his loving wife; daughters, Carolyn Romero and husband Calvin Romero, and Deborah McNeal; grandchildren, Angelle Matejowsky and husband Scott, Joshua and Collin McNeal, and Lauren Lear and husband Brandon; and great-grandchildren, Garrett, Ashton and Gage Matejowsky and Genna and Madison Lear. He is also survived by his sister, Aline Donachricha; brother and sisters-in-law, Vincent and Lorena Russo, Beatrice Russo, Joyce Russo, Bessie May and Barbara May; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Lula Williamson May; brothers, Woodrow May, James May Sr. and Joe May Jr.; sisters, Mildred Brooks, Deloris Buhler and Juanita Bell; and first wife, Angelina Messina May. Visitation at St. Aloysius Catholic Church on Saturday, Jan. 15, from 8:30 a.m. until funeral Mass at 10 a.m., celebrated by the Rev. Gerald Burns. Burial in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Services under the direction of Rabenhorst Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Raymond and James May, John, Michael and Paul Russo, Garrett and Gage Matejowsky and Ben Love. Honorary pallbearers are Jerry and Warren May, Miles Pollard, Cecil Hebert, Ronnie LaBauve, Floyd Gourley, Gene McMichael, L.J. Dantin and Joe McNeal. Thanks to Shirley Wilson and Dr. David Fontenot for their special care and Cecil and Jerry Hebert and Beatrice Russo for their love and support during Bill's illness.
