

William Otho Crabtree Jr. (Billy), of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, passed away after a long illness on May 3, 2026, at the age of 75. He was born on February 25, 1951, to the late William Otho Crabtree Sr. and Elizabeth Marie Crabtree in Raleigh, North Carolina. He attended Broadmoor High School in Baton Rouge and later received a Civil Engineering degree from LSU. He loved to attend LSU football and baseball games as he was a season ticket holder for both sports. He also enjoyed playing tennis, golfing, fishing, and visiting the beach, but most of all, he cherished cooking and spending time with his family.
Billy was preceded in death by his parents, William (Bill) and Elizabeth M. Crabtree; and his younger brother, David J. Crabtree. He is survived by his two sisters, Hellon C. Thompson (Mike) and Maurine David (Emmett) of Baton Rouge, LA; and his three daughters, Cami C. Dahmer, Rebecca C. Collette (Sergio), and Jessica C. Whitley. He is also the proud grandfather (Papa) of Peyton J. Dahmer, Ashlyn E. Dahmer, Sloane K. Collette, Grey A. Collette, Britten G. Whitley, and James B. Whitley. Additionally, he leaves behind, a host of nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and many extended family members and friends, all of whom he loved dearly. Billy will be deeply missed by all those who loved him.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Saturday, May 9, 2026, from 11:30 am until funeral service at 1:00 pm at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9559 Florida Blvd, Baton Rouge, LA 70815.
