A loving husband, father, grandfather and a caring person who would do anything for his family, William passed away peacefully at his residence Thursday, July 12, 2012. He was 88. He was a native of Kentwood, LA and a resident of Baton Rouge. He was a US Army Veteran. William was a retired Iron Worker with Local 623. He is survived by his two daughters, Beverly June Roberts and husband Wesley Roberts and Janice Marie Hill; one grandson Russell Wesley Roberts and girlfriend Nikki; five great-grandchildren, and a special friend India Ennis. He is preceded in death by his wife, Geneva Durbin; parents, Andrew C. and Julia W. Durbin; brothers, Hugh A., John B., Albert L., Robert H., Ora M., Glen S., and Baby Durbin; son, William Russell Durbin Jr.; and a great-great granddaughter. Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge, LA, Monday, July 16, 2012 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and resume on Tuesday, July 17, 2012 from 9 a.m. until religious services at 10 a.m., conducted by the Rev. David R. Brown. Interment will follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park.
