William Elliott"Gabby"Robertson

Beloved father and grandfather, William Elliott "Gabby" Robertson, Jr., age 88, was called home by his heavenly Father on Wednesday, December 24, 2014, at his residence in Houma. He was born on March 22, 1926, in Hammond, Louisiana, to William Elliott Robertson of Springville, Louisiana, and Catherine Varnado Robertson of Hillsdale, Louisiana. He was a career law enforcement officer who served for more than 30 years. He is survived by his companion of seven years, Mary Grezaffi; his children and their spouses, Brenda Robertson Guy and Wayne Guy, Douglas Robertson, David Robertson and Rheba, Darrell Robertson and Beverly Begay Robertson; his grandchildren and their spouses, Stephen and Tania Guy, Shayne and Rene Clouatre, Brandon and Carrie Guy, Ginger and Peter Zipperer, Marcy and Matthew Bernard, Jason Robertson, Jessica Robertson, Kimberly Robertson, Andrew Robertson; seven great grandchildren; his brother Samuel James "Jim" Robertson, his niece Sandra Ramirez, and nephew Samuel James "Jimbo" Robertson Jr. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 55 years, Myrtle Gremillion Robertson; his sister and brother-in-law, Maudie and Roy Bush; his brother Fredrick Robertson; and his sister-in-law Marie Robertson. Services will be conducted by the Rev. Tommy French, Pastor Emeritus of Jefferson Baptist Church, and Asst. Pastor Wilton McMorris, Milldale Baptist Church. Visitation at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., on Sunday, December 28, from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Monday, December 29, from 1:00 p.m. until funeral service at 3:00 p.m. Burial immediately following in Red Oak Baptist Church Cemetery, Livingston, Louisiana. Pallbearers will be Brandon Guy, Stephen Guy, Andrew Robertson, Jason Robertson, Brandon Grezaffi, and John "Buzz" Brooks. Honorary pallbearers are the active duty and retired members of the East Baton Rouge Parish and Livingston Parish Sheriffs' Offices, members of the Tickfaw River Hunting Club, and the senior men's Bible class of Red Oak Baptist Church.
