
William H. "Bill" Mobley, retired owner of Curtis Mathes and Huard's, passed away at his home Monday, Feb. 16, 2009. He was 83 and a native of Forest. He served first in the U.S. Army Air Corps, where he earned his flight wings, then retired as a first lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force Reserves. He attended LSU for two years and had many hobbies, including tennis and following LSU football. Visiting will be at Trinity Lutheran Church, 10925 Florida Blvd., on Wednesday, Feb. 18, was from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visiting resumes at the church on Thursday, Feb. 19, from 9 a.m. until service at 10 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Scott Schmieding. Interment will be in Port Hudson National Cemetery. He is survived by his wife Eunice Boriack Mobley, having been married for 58 wonderful years; two sons, James "Jimmy" R. Mobley and his spouse, Aimee Haynes, and William "Billy" H. Mobley and his spouse, Joyce; two granddaughters, Allison Mobley and Katherine Tattersall; and four sisters, Louise Bradley and spouse Jim, Hildred Olson and spouse Herb, Dot Jenkins and spouse Dick, and Doris Chadwick and spouse Harold. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Phyllis Ann Tattersall; and parents, William Franklin and Wilma Edmonson Mobley. Pallbearers will be Jim Bradley, Don Hill, Winn Boriack, Fred Prellop, Dax Fontaine and Grady Pinkerton. He was loved and will be missed by his family.
