William Lloyd (Bill) Jones, a native of Picayune, Mississippi and a resident of Baton Rouge, Louisiana for 48 years parted from his earthly life and entered into his eternal home on Wednesday September 11, 2019 at the age of 78; surrounded by family and friends. Bill was preceded in death by his parents Lloyd and Nellie Jones and two brothers Dennis Wayne Jones and Charles Randall Jones. Bill is survived by his wife of 57 years, Bernadette Lind Jones, son Kevin Lloyd Jones, granddaughter, Kelsi Lynn Jones, grandson, Karson Lloyd Jones, sister Linda O’Callaghan (John), a dear family friend Braden Murphy, and several nieces and nephews. Bill was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, retired from Operating Engineers Local 406, a member of Acacia Shrine Center, Eastgate Masonic Lodge, Past Patron of Mystic Star Chapter #108 Denham Springs, and serving as Worthy Patron of Fairest Star #235 Livingston. The family wishes to thank St. Joseph Hospice and Carrie O’Callaghan for their sincere care during this time. They also wish to send heartfelt appreciation to Sandra Jones Palmer for her never ending support, dedication, and nurturing care. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital and Shriners Hospital in Shreveport. Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation which will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home 9595 Florida Blvd. Baton Rouge, LA. on Friday. Sept. 13, 2019 from 5:00 pm-9:00 pm with Eastern Star service starting at 6:30pm followed by the Masonic services beginning 7:00pm. Visitation will resume on Saturday Sept. 14, 2019 from 1:00pm until the funeral service begins at 2:00pm. Burial with military honors will follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park.
