He brought joy and love to all who knew him. He was a devoted husband, loving father and brother and kind to all. He lived a full and beautiful 94 years. He was a native of Donaldsonville and resided in Baton Rouge most of his adult life. He was born on April 6, 1924 to Louis L. and Maria O. LeBlanc, the 9th of 10 children. Bill finished high school in 1942 in Metuchen, New Jersey where he was in formation to be a Brother of the Sacred Heart. He remained there one year after high school. He returned home in 1943 and joined the Army Corps (Air Force). He remained in uniform until the end of the war. His service included heavy action as an aerial gunner on a B24 bomber while completing 50 combat missions over Germany. After serving his country, Bill entered LSU and graduated with a degree in mechanical engineering. He worked as an engineer until forming his own company in 1966. He later took on partners as the company grew and it continues on to this day. He was a great mentor to all. After retiring from his firm, he worked at the state for many more years reviewing drawings. In 1952 he met the love of his life, Catherine (Kate) Dugas. That union produced two daughters, Diane and Paulette. Bill was very devoted to his family. The priorities of God, family and country set well with Bill and how he lived his life. His faith in God shines forth in his many ministries with OLOM Catholic Church. The love of family was evidenced with his devotion to his wife, children and grandchildren.
