

William Ray “Bill” Love, Sr. passed away on December 14, 2018 at the age of 80.
Bill was born in Tiptonville, TN on July 30, 1938. He spent most of his life in Baton Rouge, LA.
He was active duty in the U.S. Air Force from 1955-1961 and was proud to serve his country. He left us with many stories from the days of his service.
Upon his return from service, Bill began working in the insurance industry and soon built his own business. He opened Gulf South Insurance in 1969 and not only took pride in his work, he truly cherished the friends he made over the years. His tremendous knowledge and reputation led him to become a highly respected member of the insurance industry.
Bill was known to many as a teacher or mentor, but known to all as a friend. He impacted lives both professionally and personally. People loved his fun spirited personality and enjoyed spending time with him. No matter the length of time, you walked away remembering Bill for his words of wisdom and his many fun facts. He loved nicknames and you were one of the privileged if he gave you one, or two.
Bill loved his family and his surname could not have been more appropriate. Most young people have memories of a favorite hangout growing up. For his extended family and many nieces and nephews, “Uncle Bill’s” was the place everyone wanted to be. Bill’s door was always open as a safe haven of family and good clean fun. There was always unlimited love and laughter, always a meal for everyone to share in.
If asked, Bill would tell you that his greatest accomplishment in life were his children and grandchildren. He could not have been more proud and they could not have been more loved.
Bill spent the last 20 years married to Dung Christine Love. They shared a love of travel and had many wonderful adventures seeing the world together.
Bill is survived by his wife, Dung Christine; daughters RaeJean Love Tubre & husband Shane and Tram Angeline Leachman & husband Michael Keith; son Michael Sang Huynh & wife Chelsea Erin; grandsons Gabriel Baker, Billy Baker, Reece Tubre, London Sean Summers, Maxwell Ray Seymour Summers, and Brett Christopher Summers.
Bill is also survived by his sisters, Betty J. Leteff, Patsy R. Wilkinson, Carole J. Evans, brother Kenneth Love and wife Patricia, sister-in-laws Gay Cloud, Vivian Love, and brother-in-law A.W. O’Quinn.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents John William and Emma Jones Love; his sons William R. (Billy) Love, Jr. and Sean Summers; his brothers Robert Eugene Love, John Edward Love, and Glenn Griffin Love; his sister Sharon Linda O’Quinn; nephew Matthew Love; and brothers-in-laws Marion R. (Jack) Wilkinson and Bill Evans.
Pallbearers will be: John E. Love, Jr., William Rubein Love, Chester R. Leteff, Jr., A.W. O’Quinn, Jr., Milan A. Love, and Clinton M. Newberry.
Bill leaves behind a legacy of love, friendship, and laughter for all who had the honor of knowing him.
Visitation will be Thursday, December 20, 2018 from 5:00 – 8:00 pm and Friday, December 21, 2018 from 9:00 – 10:00 am with funeral service at 10:00 am at Life Tabernacle Church located at 9323 Hooper Rd., Baton Rouge, LA 70818. Following the funeral service, interment will be at Greenoaks Cemetery located at 9595 Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge, LA 70815.
