William (Bill) Poche’, of Baton Rouge, LA, passed away on March 15, 2018, at the age of 72. He was born May 14, 1945, to Albert and Marie Poche’. He attended St. Gerard Elementary and graduated from Redemptorist High School. He obtained a B.A. in music education, an M.M.E., and +30 hours in Guidance and Counseling from LSU. Bill worked as a band director at Redemptorist High School, Baton Rouge High School, and Central High School. He worked as a guidance counselor at Central High School and Central Private School. Bill had a passion for music, playing golf, for working with young people, for spending time with his family and friends, and for laughing. He leaves behind his wife, Tonita Balado Poche’, sister, Carol Rials, daughter, Tiffany and her husband Jimmy Spears, and son, Martin and his wife Mandy Comeaux Poche’, and their mother, Hilda Poche’. He is survived by his grandchildren, John Mooney, Audrey Poche’, Elise Poche’, Jordyn Mooney, and Lydia Poche’; nieces Ellen Belyeu, Frances Ruiz, and Donna Neck. He is also survived by step-daughters, Lynn and her husband, Shawn Kennedy, Beth and her husband, Ronnie Cochran, and step-son, Jay Robertson, step-grandchildren, Morgan and her husband, Bryce Neames, Erin Kennedy, Michael Robertson, Austin Robertson, and Blake Cochran, as well as numerous good friends and other family members. He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Marie Poche’, and sister, Jo Ann Belyeu. Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 20, 2018 from 5:00-8:00 at Greenoaks Funeral Home and Wednesday, March 21 from 9:30-11:00 at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church. The Funeral Mass will be held at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church on Wednesday, March 21 at 11:00. Pallbearers will be John Mooney, Barry Landry, Richard LeBlanc, John Gutweiler, Jay Robertson, and Shawn Kennedy. A graveside service will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the United Mitochondrial Disease Foundation, in honor of Bill’s granddaughter, Lydia.
