William Ronald"Ronnie"Robinson

William Ronald Robinson "Robbie," Lt. Col. USAF (ret), passed away at his home on Sunday, Dec. 10, 2006, from complications due to pneumonia. He was 70 years old, born on March 29, 1936, in Many, the oldest child of William Roland and Mary Mosely Robinson. They later moved to Baton Rouge, where he grew up. He was a graduate ofCatholicHigh Schooland entered the Air Force as an airman basic at 19. He eventually rose to the rank of lieutenant colonel. While in the Air Force, he studied for and received his bachelor's degree in business and his master's degree in business management. Upon retiring from the military, he was employed by the city-parish government, ending his second career as budget manager ofEMS. After his retirement from the military, he became very active in the Lions Club, serving as president of the Central Club and as a charter member and first president of the Watson Lions Club. He was a past district governor, past council chairman and past president of the Louisiana Lions Eye Foundation. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government St., on Tuesday, Dec. 12, from 5 p.m.to 8 p.m.and on Wednesday from 9 a.m.until religious service at 11 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Hawley Wolf. Interment will be inGreenoaksMemorial Park. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Mary Robinson Scheffy; brother, Dale Robinson; and son, William Ronald Robinson II. He is survived by his beloved wife of 38 years, Barbara Golson Robinson; son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Kim Robinson, and their son, Rocky, of Seattle; daughter, Renae Robinson of Phoenix; daughter, Rhonda Lampton, and her daughter, Chelsea, and son, Alex; son and daughter-in-law, John and Melinda Robinson and their son, Jonathon, of Baton Rouge; brother and sister-in-law, Kelly and Beth Robinson of Mobile, Ala., and their children, Seth and Leah of Baton Rouge and Roland of Austin, Texas; and sister-in-law, Diana Robinson of Denham Springs.
