Willie Hazel Castello Duke-Accardo

"Willie Hazel Castello Duke-Accardo was born in Gulfport, MS on July 13, 1918. She passed away peacefully on Saturday, Nov. 26, 2016 at the age of 98. She retired after serving as School Food Service Manager for 25 years: 5 yrs at Gilmer Wright & 20 yrs at Red Oak in Baton Rouge. She enjoyed crocheting, plants and traveling, was an avid reader and until well into her 70's she bowled twice a week. She married Irving M. Duke in Jan. 1939. They had 3 children: Milton Jr, Gaynell and Sally. After Irving's passing she married Phillip Accardo in 1966. She is survived by her son, Irving M. Duke, Jr. of Hot Springs, AR and her daughters, Gaynell Duke of Watson, La and Sally Bollich of Collierville, Tn and by 2 grandchildren, Douglas Herring of Dallas, Tx and Brittney Shideler of Lakeland, Tn, and by 6 great grand-children, Olivia and Scott Herring and by Hannah, Rebecca, William and Benjamin Shideler. She is preceded in death by her oldest grandson, Dustin Duke, 2014, Irving M. Duke, Sr, 1963, Phillip Accardo. Services will be held on Saturday, Dec. 3, 2016 at Rabenhorst East Funeral Home at 11000, Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge, LA. Visiting from 11 am until services at noon. Gathering at Village Woods Club House after services.
