

Winifred “Winnie” Crousillac Tucker passed away on June 30, 2026, at the age of 97, just shy of her 98th birthday on July 18. Winnie passed peacefully and unexpectedly at her son-in-law and daughter’s home, who she had been living with for almost 10 years. Winnie was born on July 18, 1928, in Livonia, Louisiana to Donat Joseph Crousillac and Idolie Lejeune Crousillac. She grew up in Livonia surrounded by 5 older brothers and 1 older sister. She graduated from Livonia High School and attended college at Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, Louisiana. While working as a secretary in downtown Baton Rouge, she met the love of her life, Joseph Hayden Tucker, her husband of over 54 years. They resided in Baton Rouge.
Winnie was a wonderful loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Winnie and Hayden had three children, Toni Marie, Cheryl Ann, and Hayden Gerard. Winnie’s grandchildren are Cody Joseph Henderson, Hillary Marie Tucker, Matthew Cole Smith, and Katie Geiselbrecher. Her great grandchildren are Dean Winston Dement, Kolby Graham, Mila Jane Henderson, and Skylar Jean Henderson. Winnie loved to cook, garden, and host delicious meals for family and friends. She always had a pot of coffee ready to serve visitors. She loved to ride in the boat, fish, and stay at the camp at False River. Winnie was an active member of St. Gerard Majella Catholic Church for 60 years and served in many roles there until her illness in 2020. She was a very devout Catholic.
She is preceded in death by her parents, and her five older siblings, Eugenia Marie C. Bergeron, Hewitt Joseph, Paul Jacob “Jake”, Emmett L, and Henry Crousillac. She is also preceded in death by her husband and daughter, Toni Marie, and all her in-laws.
Winnie is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl and Kenneth Smith; son and daughter-in-law, Hayden and Lynne Tucker; all her grandchildren and great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews, especially her devoted niece, Judy Kolb, who helped us through this journey in countless ways.
The family would like to thank Hospice Specialist of Louisiana for their wonderful care for over 4 and a half years, especially Reshonda, Laura, Regina, Ricky, Mark and many others. The family would also like to thank all of Winnie’s wonderful, devoted loving caregivers over the last 5 and a half years, especially Toni D, Carol, Wanda, Kathy, Chantel, Merle, Sandra, Toni T., Thunya, Doris, Cierra and many others. You were a blessing to our family and helped us succeed in caring for Mom at home.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd. on Sunday July 5, 2026 from 4:30 pm – 8:00 pm with recitation of rosary at 7:00 pm, conducted by Kenny Paola. Visitation on Monday, July 6, 2026 at St. Gerard Majella Catholic Church, 5354 Plank Road, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm and Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 pm, celebrated by Father Lamar Partin and Father Rick Potts. Interment in Roselawn Memorial Park, 4045 North St. Pallbearers will be Cody Henderson, Matthew Smith, Randall Kolb, Keith Crousillac, Lucas Crousillac and Craig Neermann.
