Winnie "Deanie" Dean Saia

Winnie Dean Cason Saia, 83, of Prairieville, Louisiana went to be with her Heavenly Father on June 22, 2026. Born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana on July 20, 1942, she dedicated her life to family, and was a beloved mother, grandmother, and aunt. She was a homemaker, daycare owner, and receptionist until her retirement. Winnie enjoyed league bowling for many years alongside her dear friend Bea, and loved to travel with her sister-in-law Kay, Iris, and other friends.

She was preceded in death by husband John Saia, Sr., father Omar Cason, mother Emma Barnes Landry, father and mother-in-law L.B. "Ben" and Rose Muffaletto Saia, brother James "Bob" and wife Kay Tanner Cason, and numerous other relatives.

She is survived by sons, John Saia, Jr and wife Kim Thompson Saia of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and Leonard Saia and wife Cindy Jennings Saia of Prairieville, Louisiana. Two grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and other dear relatives and friends.

Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation that will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd, Baton Rouge, Louisiana on Thursday, June 25, 2026 from 1:00 P.M. until services at 2:00 P.M., officiated by Pastor Mardy Guidry. Burial to follow at Greenoaks Cemetery. Pallbearers are Brad Cason, Blake Cason, Cameron Cason, Benny Saia, Sean Little, and Thomas LeBlanc. Honorary pallbearer is Roger Zecchel.
