
Left this world for the great fishing hole in the sky where he can catch speckled trout, redfish and flounder without any limits. Woody left us at 7:45 p.m. Monday, April 25, 2011, and he will be greatly missed by many people. He was a wonderful man who had a big heart and a loving personality. He was born on June 27, 1943, in Pine Grove. He resided in Baton Rouge, where he was an LSU retiree from the graphic services department where he worked from 1965 until his retirement in 1996 as assistant director. Woody was loved and respected by his co-workers and customers. He was an Air Force veteran and past master of Grangeville Masonic Lodge 231 F&AM. Survived by his wife, best friend and fishing partner, Susan Hodges; son, Troy Hodges and wife Vicki; grandsons, Walker Hodges, Adley Hodges and Houston Boggs. Also survived by his sisters, Eleanor McBride, of Alexandria; Margaret Yvonne Thompson, of Ruston; Glennette Bedwell, of Baton Rouge; Katie Cockerham, of Walker; and Marilyn Sue Phillips, of Keystone Heights, Fla.; brothers, Sam Hodges, of Baton Rouge; Dewitte Hodges, of Pine Grove; and Arlen Hodges, of Texas; along with many loving nieces and nephews, the entire Sibley family, and a Boston terrier named Sadie Mae. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elliott and Ouida Hodges; sister, Elaine Goynes; and three brothers, Alton Hodges, Silas Hodges and Nolan Hodges. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government St., Thursday, April 28, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a Masonic service at 8 p.m. Visiting continues at University United Methodist Church, 3350 Dalrymple Drive, Friday, April 29, from 10 a.m. until service at 11 a.m., conducted by the Rev. J. Phillip Woodland. Interment in Roselawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to University United Methodist Church or a charity of your choice.
