
A lifelong resident of East Baton Rouge Parish and a retired schoolteacher, having taught for more than 35 years, she died Wednesday, March 7, 2007, at Our Lady of theLakeRegionalMedicalCenter. She was born July 2, 1930, in Baton Rouge. Visitation at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government St., on Saturday, March 10, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and on Sunday in the chapel from 1 p.m. until religious service at 2:30 p.m., conducted by Dr. John W. Goodwin. Entombment inGreenoaksMemorial ParkMausoleum. She is survived by two sons, Steven E. Lee, M.D., Baton Rouge, and Charles I. Lee, M.D., Huntsville, Ala.; a daughter, Susan E. Lee, RNP, New Orleans; two daughters-in-law, Paddy Lee and Karen Lee; Susan's companion, Dee deMontluzin; and five grandchildren, Christopher, Charles Ivy, Eric, Brooke and Jordan Lee. She is also survived by a brother-in-law, James Lee and his wife, Jeannette; two sisters-in-law, Helen Seymour Pennington and Norma Lee Seymour; dear friends, Walter Floyd, Shirley Callahan and Peggy Starkey; and many other lifelong friends and extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ivy R. and Thelma Causey Pennington; husband, Charles Edward Lee; and brother, Jack R. Pennington. Pallbearers will be Christopher Lee, Charles Ivy Lee, Eric Lee, Stuart Lee, Mark Kay and Frederick Jacob. Honorary pallbearers are David Walker, Tom Price, James Ross Coxe and Richard Pennington. She held bachelor's and master's degrees from LSU and participated in the Outreach Study Program in England. She was an active member ofBroadmoorBaptistChurch, Alpha Zeta Chapter of ADK, Baton Rouge Area Retired Teachers Association, Music Club of Baton Rouge, and Girls of North Highlands. Sue was loved by her students and will be missed by family and friends.
