

He was a retired junior high school teacher with East Baton Rouge Parish School System, with over 25 years of service. Zach was a native of Natchitoches and a resident of Baton Rouge. He died at 6:45pm Sunday, June 29, 2014 at his home. He was 83. Zach was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War. Visitation will be held at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, Wednesday from 6:00pm until the religious service at 7:00pm, conducted by Pastor Scott Rogers. Interment will be Thursday, with graveside service at 11:00am. He is survived by his daughters: Valerie Hamilton, Karla Locke and Kim Anderson; sons-in-law: James Hamilton, Al Pilet and Pat Anderson; brother: Harry Gallion&wife Louise; grandchildren: Jay Hamilton&wife Alison, Kara Miller&husband Ron, Caden Hamilton, Haley Pilet, Zachary Pilet, Hunter Locke, Conner Locke, Abby Anderson, Patrick Anderson and Luke Anderson; great-grandchildren: Saylor Miller and Thor Miller; niece: Cebell Berry. He was preceded in death by his wife: Quida Gallion; daughter: Ginger Pilet; son-in-law: Melvin Locke. Zach enjoyed fishing, tennis, education, making people laugh and being with his family.
