Rafael dejó a sus hijos Norma Vargas Baez, Efraín Vargas Baez, Exuris Vargas Baez y Luis Manuel Vargas Baez. quienes hoy día se apenan a su partida

Rafael falleció luego de su hijo Carlos Ruben Vargas Baez y su hijo Héctor Luis Vargas Baez.

Su servicio funeral se realizará en la Funeraria Álvarez Memorial y su descanso eterno será en el cementerio porta Coeli en bayamón Puerto Rico
