Dorothy P. English (nee Kahn) a longtime resident of Douglaston NY passed away peacefully at Evergreen Woods in Branford CT on the 28th of September. Dorothy was born in New York NY and was raised in the Bronx. She was preceded in death by her parents David Kahn and Mary (nee McIntyre) Kahn, her brothers Donald (Lucia) and James, and her loving husband Michael. She is survived by her children Kathleen Bailey (William) of Guilford CT, James (Barbara nee Gowan) of W. Islip NY, Maureen of Douglaston NY, and Matthew of Douglaston NY. She is also survived by her three gandchildren.

She worked as an administrative assistant for New England Life Insurance and Bank Leumi. She was an avid seamstress and loved to travel, swim, dance, and garden. She was active in the Douglaston Community Theatre, and many volunteer activities.

Visiting hours are 2-5 & 7-9 Sunday Oct 1 Harden Funeral Home 208-17 Northern Blvd Bayside NY. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Monday Oct 2 at 10:30 am St. Anastasia Douglaston NY. Burial to follow at St Charles Cemetery Farmingdale NY. Memorial contributions may be made to Long Island Alzheimer's Foundation.
